When I first started this post the heading was “Not A Great Start to 2018” and I immediately went into all the negatives this year had. The reason for my poor attitude is because of the current situation I am in now. And than it hit me! I had to literally say that sentence over and over again to check myself. “The current situation I am in now, the current situation I am in NOW….keyword…”now!!!” I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. Asked God to forgive my horrible thoughts. How dare I start complaining when in fact this year has actually been the BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE. That this so called “situation” my family and I are in, right in this very moment, is SOOO minimal compared to other peoples life long problems. So one by one I shamefully deleted all those nasty words, changed the title, and I’m ready to restart this post on a more happier note. Saving you guys the time from listening to me mope.
Happy New Year Beautiful!!!!!!!! It’s 2018! Lets make it a good one!!!! Here’s a motivational quote to set you up for a great year….or just because it makes me feel better to redeem myself from how negative I was earlier in my day..so maybe this quote is actually for me but I’m acting like its for you 😉
To reach up for the new, you must let go of the old. What lies behind you is not nearly as important as what lies in front of you.
….and heres another one because I’m feeling extra generous with sharing some of my favorite quotes…
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make you paths straight.” -Proverbs 3:5-6
So last year I didn’t get to celebrate Christmas with my family in California because I was 7 1/2 months pregnant with Luna and didn’t want to risk a delivery on the plane lol even though…. did you know that if you give birth to a baby on a plane the baby gets free air transport on that carrier for the rest of their life?!…Thats why many airlines restrict the travel to expectant women who get closer to their due dates… Now I’ve also heard this isn’t true for ALL airlines…but whatever..it was nice to give you guys that little 411. Anyway, I was so excited to be spending Christmas in California. Not to mention this year was SUPER special because my brother Eric came as well… We haven’t had a Christmas all together in 3 years! Yes 3 years is a long time for a family who was always together. Christmas is like a BIG deal in our household. My mom goes all out with decorating the tree, we say we won’t splurge on presents yet somehow 100 presents magically appear under the tree. Our crazy Russian family gets together, and just like most European families we are very loud, everyone talks over one another, there’s kids running around whose names you don’t even know because every year they just keep multiplying, and theres an unlimited amount of food. Which gives grandmas the opportunity to constantly say “nobody ate anything!!” then they come up behind you handing you a plate full of salads and meat again. . I don’t work so my schedule allows me to travel as much as I want. Thats why I flew out with Luna a few days before Mike.
It’s become like a family tradition to stay in Lake Tahoe around Christmas time. Tahoe is just sooooo damn beautiful all year round, but especially in the winter! This year it didn’t snow as much as it normally does, but we got super lucky that fresh snow fell the day we arrived and melted by the time our trip was over. And oh how excited and confused Luna was seeing snow for the first time! Everything we did was so simple yet thats all we really need to create such amazing memories. Playing pool with my competitive brothers and husband is something i’ll always remember these trips by. Drinking tea every night with the gingerbread house and cookies we made. The Christmas channel always on. Taking Luna sledding reminded me so much of my childhood. Going into town for our $29.99 surf & turf dinner that we have gone to for the past 5 years. Yes its $29.99. Didn’t think I’d leave you hanging on such a secret now did you? Lakeside Inn in Tahoe has a restaurant that is BOMB and their steak & lobster tail is only 29.99 with your choice between soup or salad and two sides!!! You’re welcome! The boys went snowboarding and skiing one day while the girls had their own fun filled day….that means LOTS of photos lol
Our cozy little cabin for 3 days Don’t ever tell my dad “it won’t fit.” Grandma loves her YouTubeThat surf & turf dinner I was telling you guys about 😋 Even my grandma got a chance to feel young again ❤️
Obsessed with this photo. Pure Love.
BABY’S FIRST CHRISTMAS!!!
Omg so if you followed my story around Christmas time than you saw the video of when my mom opened up her present. She couldn’t stop crying when she saw the Prada bag. It was the most pure, most grateful reaction I’ve ever seen.
Oh no! NOT MY PUFFS!!! WHEW!! DON’T YOU EVER SLIP THROUGH MY LITTLE FINGERS AGAIN! Being in Roseville around the holidays is like being in LA. Seriously, the traffic is absolutely brutal! Since when did Roseville become the spot?!?! Everyone and their moms live here. I miss it being a quiet suburb. Although, I love being back here. This is where I grew up. Everywhere I go brings me back to certain moments in my past. Realizing how fast time has gone by….I get to now come here and build new memories with my daughter and husband. And my parents who are now grandparents, my brothers who are now uncles and my grandma who is now a great grandma. Oh the circle of life.

One of the days we went to San Francisco. (Also a tradition of ours.) This time the highlight of our trip wasn’t the seals on pier 39 or the hearts in Union Square. But it was a hairy armpit lady. lol jk that definitely wasn’t the highlight of our trip…it was the man who almost stole my bag, and than my moms! Okay I’m losing you here aren’t I? Lets rewind. From the beginning…I was so excited to go to SF this time, because we were going to visit the Museum Of Ice Cream! That meant bringing an extra change of clothes specifically for the Museum. Don’t act like you wouldn’t do the same 😉 Or are my mom and I the only ones? Mike made fun of us packing to go away for 7 hours. (4 of it being in the car lol) He goes “only you two.” 😂 On our way to SF we stopped at a super touristy area where the view of the Golden Gate Bridge was ridiculous. Something you see on a postcard.
When did my brothers become such handsome men?!This is how I get dragged out from taking pictures
Heres where the juicy story starts…. We run into a Chipotle to quickly grab some food before going to the Ice Cream Museum. As Mike and my brothers are finishing up their order I went over to the fountain drinks to get myself a Diet Coke and utensils. There was a guy standing there acting like he was grabbing something so I said “excuse me.” He moves over, and nicely says “oh please forgive me, ladies go first.” And he lets me lean over to grab a fork. At the corner of my eye I notice his hand reaching into my purse!!! (My bag was open.) I immediately turned around and just walked away. So shocked and confused…like did that “nice guy” really just try stealing from me!? I go to sit down with everyone and tell them what just happened…Nobody seemed bothered by it, and said I must of mistook his hand gesture. Anyway, we all finish our meal and start walking over to the museum which was a few blocks away.. Michael and I are in the front leading the way and my 2 brothers are in the back with my mom. We turned left, turned right, walked a few blocks, made some turns again, I’m running out of breath, we stop at the crosswalk and all of a sudden I see that guy again!!!!! No f*cking way. How in the world did he appear next to us? Um, did he follow us? So I tug on Mike and say “It’s that guy I told you about!” Mike just brushed it off and it was our turn to cross the street. Both Mike and I turn our heads to see if my mom and brothers are catching up and BOOM we see that guy bump into my mom, reaching over to grab her bag and quickly realizes it was hanging around her neck. As he walked away he looked back to eye her down. Probably trying to figure out what the hell went wrong. My guess is… he thought he would bump into her, the purse would fall, and he would run off with it. But did he really think he would get away from my two big ass brothers and my husband who does Ironman’s? Idiot. Moral of the story, watch your purses ladies!! People are on the prowl.
As for the Museum of Ice Cream. It was awesome! Definitely worth checking out! They have one in LA, NY, Miami and SF. Keep in mind you CAN’T buy tickets at the door. You have to sign up for their newsletter to get updates of when tickets go on sale.
Do you see what I see??Sprinkle Pool!!!
For New Years Mike and I took advantage of my parents and left Luna with them while we went to party it up in LA making up for last year. His friend Bryan lives in Manhattan Beach so we stayed with him. His place is beautiful!! But the walls are THIN. Do you know where I’m headed with this??? Well, Bryan has no problem with the ladies. Thank God I had ear plugs with me…hearing the sound of smacking balls and girls moaning isn’t exactly my idea of a soothing lullaby. So for New Years Eve we went to a place called “The Nice Guy.” It was a very small venue. You get to eat dinner and than hang out as it turns into a party. The minute we got sat at our table people gave us “looks.” Maybe because I showed up with 2 men…but hey its LA. Shouldn’t be that surprising. Anyway the table next to us were Russian so the girls immediately started talking sh*t not knowing I understood everything they were saying… it was things like “are both those men hers?” “Did you see her dress?” After listening to them bad mouth us and constantly stare I finally said something to them in Russian and they froze. Then the table on the other side of us were a bunch of preppy idiots and when Mike was talking to Bryan one of the guys leans over and says to Mike “you might want to keep your voice down, everyone could hear your personal conversation.” Wtf was wrong with everyone?! Its like we were hated from the minute we got there. We ended up switching tables because we wanted to be closer to the DJ….At some point in the night Bryan invited a girl over. They were dancing on the dance floor. Mike and I taking shots like the good ol days. Everyone was having a blast….until…..yup the drama didn’t stop there….I come back from the bathroom and Bryan’s girl says “Your husband is outside with security.” I sprinted to the front door! Swung it open and sure enough theres Mike with the front door guy who appeared to be kicking him out. Im like “Sir, whats the problem?” He goes “This man grabbed a girls ass.” Yup. There you have it ladies. You thought Michael was this perfect guy right? But yet he touched another girl. Ok that isn’t true lol. You can pick your jaw back up. But seriously, when the security said that can you guys imagine what went on in my head??!! I was going to cut his hand off right than and there. “WAIT WHAT? You’re telling me MY husband grabbed some girls ass!??!??” The guy goes “no this guy did!” And points to Bryan. Whew!!! No way in hell would it be my man. He has THIS piece of fine ass to grab, plus I was going commando that night so it definitely couldn’t have been him lol. Apparently the table next to us was accusing Bryan of grabbing the girls butt while she walked by. First of all, Bryan had his own girl. He wouldn’t need to grab someone else, second of all, he’s a grown respectful man who wouldn’t dare do such a thing. Again, just some haters causing problems for no reason. The girls boyfriend or whoever he was started cussing us out, proceeded to take pictures of us and kept screaming “I’m going to get you all thrown out of here!!!” Clearly that guy was “somebody” because out in the cold we were. Standing waiting for our Uber. And we had JUST ordered a Magnum Perrier Jouet that cost us $3500 😳 But you know what, it worked out for the best, because we weren’t as hungover in the morning as we would have been if we continued to party…Plus Mike and I were flying back to Sacramento that day to pack and leave to Florida the day after…
My dress was from Catwalkconnection

Mike, Luna, my brother and I said our goodbye’s and off to Florida we went. Earlier in my post I said I wouldn’t be negative, but I need to fill you in so you can better understand what happened. We arrived late at night to the place thats been our temporary home for the past year an a half. However, this time, it didn’t feel like home. All our clothes, bedroom/bathroom stuff, Luna’s nursery, everything was gone. We had already packed everything before we left to California. The plan was to be back in our dream house after our trip. We were under the impression that everything would finally be fixed. Well, we arrived and nothing was done. We couldn’t even stay at the condo because the carpets were going to get professionally cleaned and Luna wouldn’t be able to crawl around so we had to go to a nearby hotel. It was so disappointing. We were so excited to start the new year in our home. We contemplated a lot. What was the best thing for us to do. We had no place to stay comfortably. All our stuff was packed up in boxes. Michael needed to start shacking things up with the builders and lawyers to get our house fixed, because this was unacceptable. Luna and I would just be in limbo. Having us there would stall the process. Mike needed to focus and the only way he was able to do so was to send us back to the place he knew would keep Luna and I happy, comfortable and safe.

Mike kissed Luna and I goodbye as we sat on the plane to go back to California. Only this time, it was miserable. Before we went to the airport we went to Target to pick up one of those cheap lightweight strollers. I didn’t have my MiaMily baby carrier because when I was in California I shipped a box full of winter clothes, Christmas presents, and the carrier back to Florida to free up my suitcase. Well the box obviously didn’t arrive in the 2 days I was there. We get to the airport, Mike grabs that stroller, opens it up and f*ck. The 2 front wheels are missing!!!!!!!! I literally wanted to cry. I knew I had to carry Luna in my arms the entire TRIP. I also did not have comfortable shoes because those too were in that box I shipped out. We went from West Palm Beach to Houston. In Houston our layover was 3 hours. I knew I had some time to kill in the Admirals Club Lounge. I walk over to where its supposed to be and I see a sign that reads “we are temporary closed. Please see our other location in Terminal D.” I walk all the way to the train to get to Terminal D. Get out and again walk all around looking for another Admirals Club. I finally found it, go in, and the lady says “whats your membership number?” Membership Number?! Lady I don’t have one, but I do have a first class ticket. She says “Sorry you need a membership number.” Then I told her I’m a platinum American Express Card holder and she goes “Oh you need to go to Terminal C.” So again I walk ALL THE WAY TO THE TRAIN. Get off at Terminal C. Walk all around looking for the Admirals Club….I saw it out in the distance and thought I was going to pass out. I was so exhausted at that point. I had blisters on my feet that were the size of quarters. My arms felt like jello from holding Luna this entire time, and I haven’t ate in 7 hours except nibble on some snacks. So much time has passed with all the back & forth that by the time we got to the lounge we had 45 minutes before heading back to our Gate. (Which was another 15 minute walk.) Both flights Luna barely slept. She had so much energy and couldn’t sit still. Always trying to get on the floor, grabbing everyone and everything around her. Spilled a guys coffee on his phone, screaming, throwing tantrums. I couldn’t wait to just get to California where I would finally get some help. We were about an hour away from Sacramento and this stench came over. Luna did a BIG poopie. And of course, as if the day wasn’t bad enough…I ran out of diapers. The poop had already leaked through her diaper and onto her outfit. I couldn’t even change her! Everyone around was closing their nose’s and holding their breath. When we all got off the plane you could just hear everyone gasp for air haha YES WE WERE FINALLY BACK. Im running as fast as I could to baggage claim. Eyes wide open searching for my mom. “Mommy help me!!!”
Which brings me to where I am today… back in good ol Roseville with the fam. Luna currently has an ear infection. Im coughing up a little. My mom has a neck problem which restricts her from moving her head. My grandma is bedridden. Luckily my dad is holding it down for everybody. We got this. I think. 🤔
I would love to hear some of your highlights this holiday season! Did anyone get anything special for Christmas? Or give someone something that they are proud of like I did for my mom? Anyone celebrated their babies first Christmas?! How did it go! Didn’t Christmas just get so much better?!
